SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police Department says a man was shot and killed inside a car on early Sunday morning.

SPD says they responded to a report of a shooting in the area of 600 S McClellan just before 1 a.m. Police say when they arrived on the scene, they found a dead man inside a car.

SPD says the initial information they gathered was that an unknown suspect walked up to the car and started shooting the man who was inside. The suspect ran away and has yet to be located, according to officers.

The Spokane Police Department Major Crimes Unit is investigating at this time, what caused the shooting remains unknown.
