The Brantford Bulldogs moved to the top of the OHL Eastern Conference standings with an 8-5 win over the Ottawa 67’s on Sunday afternoon.

Both Brantford (6-0-1-1) and Ottawa (6-1-0-0) were undefeated in regulation play heading into the game at the TD Civic Centre, but Bulldogs head coach Jay McKee said they didn’t put any importance on that status.

“(The 67’s) are very well coached and have a structured hard-working team, and we knew we were going to be in for a tough night,” said the coach, whose team is now the last one undefeated in regulation.

“Both teams have a lot of new players, so there’s a feeling-out process, and they’ve got a great hockey team. We were fortunate to get the win.”
