CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A turkey has gobbled up the power for hundreds of people in Carteret County.

At 7:35 p.m., Carteret-Craven Electric Co-op crews responded to an outage impacting around 500 members along Highway 101 and Steel Tank Road.

Officials say a turkey made the deadly mistake of getting in between an arrester and a ground.
