DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A man is facing multiple drug charges after a Dare County traffic stop.

On Saturday, just after 10:15 p.m., a deputy with the Dare County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on Roanoke Island near the Virginia Dare Bridge on Highway 64 for a traffic violation.

Officials say a K9 with the sheriff’s office alerted on the vehicle, prompting a search. According to officials, a felony amount of marijuana and paraphernalia was found.

57-year-old Robert Ford of Manteo was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana and Felony Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana.

Ford was taken to the Dare County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center under a $7,500 secured bond.
