STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — This weekend’s nor’easter is expected to sail into the beginning of the week, as a soggy Columbus Day will feature steady rain, gusty winds and coastal flooding concerns through Monday night before conditions improve later in the week, according to the National Weather Service .

The wet pattern began Sunday night with a 90% chance of precipitation and overnight lows around 55 degrees.

Northeast winds were predicted to hit 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph, creating blustery conditions.

A quarter and half inch of rain is expected to fall overnight.

A wind advisory and coastal flood warning remain in effect until 6 p.m. Monday.
