DeMario Douglas brought the fireworks early to Sunday’s win over the New Orleans Saints.

The New England Patriots wideout connected with quarterback Drake Maye on a 53-yard touchdown pass to put the Patriots up 7-3 just over four minutes into the game.

It was one of a couple of big plays for young Patriots receivers in the 25-19 win, with Kayshon Boutte also grabbing a pair of touchdown passes at Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Douglas said after the game that special teams ace Brenden Schooler predicted pregame that the Pats would find paydirt when they called the play.
