Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara: Chapter 1' had a phenomenal second weekend in theatres. The film raced past Rs 600 crore globally and is expected to continue its run further. During the second weekend in theatres, the period drama earned almost Rs 40 crore nett (gross minus taxes) on both days, which is a 75 per cent increase compared to Friday's numbers.
As of October 12, 'Kantara: Chapter 1' has grossed Rs 500 crore domestically and Rs 600 crore globally. It is the second Indian film after Vicky Kaushal's 'Chhaava' to achieve this feat this year.
