The CicLAvia street festival returned to Los Angeles Sunday, attracting thousands of participants.

“CicLAvia’ — Heart of LA” took place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The event stretched across the downtown area, closing 7.15 miles to motorized vehicle traffic.

CicLAvia is a nonprofit car-free streets initiative in Los Angeles. The “Heart of LA” festival marked CicLAvia’s 15th birthday and its 63rd open streets event since its first event in 2010, according to a statement from the organization.

Only people-powered vehicles were permitted at the event, which includes bikes, skateboards and more. Non-people-powered vehicles, such as electric scooters and electric skateboards, were not allowed to be used at the event.
