Southeastern and Thameslink can not run trains between Faversham and Gillingham after a person has sadly been hit by a train. The rail company said the line was blocked, and trains could be cancelled or delayed by up to an hour.

Emergency services and response staff are at the scene. Passengers have been warned disruption is expected until 10am. The incident happened at around 6am.

A Thameslink spokesperson said: "A person has been struck by a train, affecting the Thameslink route to and from Rainham. Trains will be unable to run between Gillingham and Rainham, and there will also be some further service changes and cancellations on this route."

"Where trains are amended, they will not stop at all the usual stations, or will only complete parts of their normal journeys. Southeaster
