Mangaluru, Oct 13: The state government has launched a new initiative titled ‘Mane Manege Police’ (Police at Every Doorstep) with the aim of strengthening a people-friendly policing system. However, due to lack of adequate public awareness and limited promotion, the initiative has caused confusion and concern among residents in Dakshina Kannada (DK).

The primary objective of the programme is to build trust between the police and the public, while creating a sense of safety and security in society. Yet, many residents have little or no information about the project, leaving them uncertain about how to respond when police officers visit their homes for inquiries.
