NEW BEDFORD – The amount of campaign cash councilor-at-large candidates have at their disposal ranges from almost $62,000 to a little over $25.
As they head into the homestretch to determine the top five, the at-large council candidates reported the following balances in their campaign chests to the state Office of Campaign and Political Finance, as of a reporting period from Sept. 1 to Sept. 30.
They are, from most to least:
Incumbent Ian Abreu. Beginning balance was $62,560.78, with no receipts raised during that period. There was $584.62 spent, leaving a balance of $61,976.16. Year to date, Abreu has $10,808.57 in receipts and $9,447.97 in expenditures. Abreu won the preliminary election with 2,299 votes.
