New Delhi: West Indies batter Shai Hope ended an eight-year-long drought with a century in the 2nd Test against India at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Monday, October 13. Hope slammed a terrific knock of 103 runs off 214 balls to notch up his first century in Test cricket after eight years. He combined with fellow centurion John Campbell to share a 177-run stand for the third wicket and help West Indies avoid innings defeat after being asked to follow on in the Test match.

Hope ended a wait of 58 innings and 2967 days to notch up his third century for West Indies in Test cricket. He last scored a hundred against England back in 2017. The no.4 batter joined hands with opener Campbell to lead West Indies’ fightback after India enforced follow-on against the visitors on Day 3
