MOUNT PLEASANT — Brown Pelicans are once again nesting on the Crab Bank Seabird Sanctuary after a yearslong absence. Their return to the spit of land near the mouth of Shem Creek is a conservation success story that’s been a long time in the making, the S.C. Department of Natural Resources said.
