ANDERSON — Two security guards were killed after an argument escalated into a shooting that also left three others injured.

The shooting happened around 3:15 a.m. on Oct. 12 at the Truth Bar and Grill at 208 West Franklin St., Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore said.

Killed were 54-year-old Calvin Chester Jr. and 30-year-old Roymad McDaniel, who were both serving as private security guards at the nightclub when Shore said “a disturbance among females” erupted.

The two were trying to disperse a large crowd that had gathered, he said.

Three others were injured. One was transported to AnMed hospital and underwent surgery. The other two were driven privately and had non-life-threatening injuries, he said.

Autopsies are scheduled later this week.
