Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead as the Dartford Crossing will see a series of closures impacting both tunnels and the QEII Bridge over the coming weeks.

National Highways has confirmed the full details on all of the works that will affect travel at the busy crossing which connects Kent and Essex this October.

Since Monday, September 29, crews have been carrying out maintenance to the cable supports on the QEII Bridge. In total, these works will take six weeks to complete, during which time lane closures will be in effect on the bridge six nights a week from Sunday to Friday between 9pm to 5.30am.

For safety, lanes three and four will be closed over the bridge while works are carried out. Lanes one and two will be open as usual.
