LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After months of surveys, inquiries and interviews, the pieces are in place for Louisville’s "Community Commitment" plan.

The Community Safety Commission , the group tasked with governing the implementation of police reform, will have its first meeting Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Gary Friedman, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana, who is also a member of the commission, called it a privilege to collaborate with so many people who ultimately want what’s best for the city, including the newly selected independent monitor, nonprofit Effective Law Enforcement for All .
