LOUISVILLE, Ky. — No. 5 Louisville Volleyball stayed red hot Sunday afternoon, defeating Virginia 3-1 to cap off a successful weekend after a 3-0 sweep of Virginia Tech Friday.

The Cardinals (14-2, 6-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) took sets one (25-11) and two (25-21) before falling 25-23 in set three. They then took set four decisively, 25-17, to win the match. Louisville hit .396 with 71 kills, 63 digs, four service aces and four blocks.

Freshman opposite hitter Kalyssa Blackshear had a team-high 20 kills, and redshirt senior middle blocker Cara Cresse added 16 of her own. Outside hitters, junior Chloe Chicoine and sophomore Payton Petersen, both had double-doubles; Chicoine had 12 kills and 16 digs while Petersen added 14 kills and 13 digs.
