Seasonal decor depicts a bat as a villainous creature with glowering red eyes and ragged wings. As is so often the case, the fantasy is just that: a myth.
“I just want people to lose their fear. People think they all have rabies and if a bat flies by them, they’re going to get rabies. There’s so much misinformation out there,” said Bonnie Stewart, co-owner of Northern Arizona Bat Rescue. “Every time I get a bat from somebody, I try to educate them.
