Kottayam: The Kottayam Archdiocese Vigilance Committee has strongly urged that the recent Kerala High Court verdict concerning the Munambam land issue be implemented without delay. This long-standing dispute has caused anxiety among residents of Munambam and drawn widespread attention across Kerala.

The Division Bench of the Kerala High Court recently delivered a landmark ruling, clarifying that the disputed Munambam land is not a waqf property. According to the court, the land was originally gifted to Kozhikode Farooq College by Muhammad Siddique Syed under the provisions of the 1950 Act. The court further ruled that the action of the Kerala Waqf Board in declaring this land as waqf was erroneous and legally unsound.
