SANDUSKY, Ohio (WJW) - The Fox 8 I-Team has learned Sandusky police are investigating the death of a 14-year-old boy.

Police Chief Jared Oliver said around noon on October 4, police received a call from a home on Hayes Avenue involving a medical emergency involving the boy.

"The juvenile was found unresponsive and was immediately transported to a local hospital by emergency personnel," Oliver stated. "He was later transferred to University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s in Cleveland for further treatment. Tragically, the juvenile passed away on October 7, 2025."

Police say an autopsy was conducted by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office, and that preliminary findings indicate that the juvenile suffered a medical event that contributed to his death. Detectives have been
