CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A school therapist for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools was charged with attempted murder this past week after she allegedly tried to drug a person’s drink, documents revealed.
An arrest warrant alleged that 43-year-old Cheryl Harris Gates put prescription medicines in a person’s Celsius energy drink “with the intention of causing a black out condition or incapacitation.”
An affidavit showed Gates and the victim were married, and that she used ChatGPT to “research lethal and incapacitating drug combinations that could be ingested and injected.” The document alleged that Gates then bought supplies to carry out her plan.
