LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Georgia man has been arrested after a brief police pursuit in southern Indiana.

According to Indiana State Police, a trooper was conducting traffic patrols on I-65 North when they observed a blue Jeep Cherokee approaching quickly. The trooper clocked the vehicle heading southbound at 115 mph in a 70 mph zone.

The trooper tried to initiate a traffic stop but the driver continued south at a high rate of speed.

The driver, identified as 35-year-old Michael Anthony Tapia of Georgia, was noticed taking the Sellersburg exit and running a stop sign at the bottom of the ramp. Police say he allegedly drove recklessly around other vehicles before getting on I-65 North.

ISP said Tapia pulled to the side of the road and he was arrested.
