ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester issued a statement on Monday, recognizing the release of Israeli hostages.

As of October 13, ahead of the signing of a peace agreement by leaders in the Middle East, all 20 living hostages were released from Hamas custody and returned to Israel. A reported 1,900 Palestinians were released from Israeli custody as part of the beginning of a ceasefire deal, ending the two-year-long war in Gaza.

In reaction, the Jewish Federation posted the following message to Facebook:

"Today, 737 days since October 7, 2023, we finally welcome the hostages home. As we mourn those whose remains are returned, we also continue waiting anxiously for the return of every single one taken.
