ROCKFORD, Ill. — The local housing authority gave an update on how a continued government shutdown would affect them.
The Winnebago and Boone County Housing Authorities (WCHA) said on Facebook that the US Department of Housing and Urban Development made November and December housing assistance funds available to housing authorities, if the shutdown lasts longer.
"We will be able to pay landlords, as normal, for these months," said WCHA in the post on Monday.
WCHA oversees housing programs for Winnebago County and Boone County and administers Section 8 programs in Stephenson and Jo Daviess Counties.
