NEW ORLEANS — A Terrytown woman is facing a vehicular homicide charge after a crash that killed a motorcyclist on the Crescent City Connection Bridge earlier this month, according to Louisiana State Police.

Police said Azaria Scott, 26, was intoxicated when she rear-ended a Can-Am on U.S. Highway 90B near General De Gaulle Drive in the early morning hours of Oct. 4.

The motorcyclist, 36-year-old Lonnie Thompson of Westwego, was not wearing a helmet and suffered critical injuries. He died in the hospital more than a week later.

Police say Scott allegedly fled the scene after the crash but was found a short time later on an exit ramp with her disabled vehicle. Troopers said she showed signs of impairment, and that a breath test revealed her BAC was over the legal limit.
