CLIFTON FORGE, Va. (WDBJ) - Mountain Gateway Community College is opening new doors for students in rural Virginia, doors that could lead straight into one of the fastest growing career fields in the world.

The brand-new MG-TEC IT Academy at MGCC is more than a classroom; it’s a launchpad to a successful future.

The academy is hosted in two classroom spaces, on the main campus in Clifton Forge and the Buena Vista campus. The classes connect via video conference each day and work together. There are 19 current students who attend each day.

MG-Tec IT Academy was announced in the Fall of 2024 with the anticipated first classes beginning Fall 2025.
