BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - LSU Police arrested a man who accidentally shot himself in the thigh an hour before the LSU game Saturday.
It happened in front of thousands of people near the ROTC building on South Stadium Drive. Arrest documents show an LSU police officer heard a “loud pop.” That officer then noted a male, identified as Lawrence Hubbard, approached a DPS officer limping.
Multiple witnesses told investigators that Lawrence Hubbard was adjusting his pants and shot himself in he leg. A Glock 21 .45 caliber firearm was located on the ground nearby, according to an arrest report. Documents show Hubbard threw the weapon on the ground after he shot himself.
