SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. —

The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office and Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office are investigating after a shooting left a man dead over the weekend.

According to the coroner's office, a shooting took place at a home on Woodruff Lane in Moore, South Carolina, early Sunday evening.

The coroner said the victim of the shooting, identified as 39-year-old Joe Hughes, died at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center later that evening.

On Monday, the coroner's office said the case is being investigated as a homicide.

No other details have been released.
