The Detroit Red Wings lost one of their top forwards on Monday against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Lucas Raymond left the game in the second period and was ruled out with an upper-body injury, the team announced.

Raymond was hurt in the second after he was hit into the boards by Leafs defenceman Chris Tanev, and appeared to be favouring his shoulder.

The 23-year-old picked up an assist on Dylan Larkin’s goal on the power play, giving him three points through the first three games of the season.
