The 2015 AL MVP is in the building.
Looking to bounce back in Game 2 of the ALCS, the Toronto Blue Jays summoned Josh Donaldson to throw out the first pitch on Monday night.
Donaldson, a member of the Blue Jays from 2015 to 2018, took the mound to “MVP” chants from the Rogers Centre crowd and delivered a strike to Ty France.
The now 39-year-old made two all-star teams, won an MVP and two Silver Slugger Awards during his tenure in Toronto. Donaldson, of course, was also a key cog in the Blue Jays’ trips to the ALCS in 2015 and 2016.
Over 462 games with Toronto, the star third baseman slashed .281/.383/.548 with 116 home runs. In 20 post-season games with the club, he raised his game, posting a 1.000 OPS.
