WATERBURY, Conn. (WFSB) - City leaders are providing an update on a water main break in Waterbury that started in late September.

Crews have now completely stopped the water main leak on Huntingdon Avenue.

The city issued a boil water advisory for more than 1,500 homes and businesses on Sunday after many people lost service or saw reduced pressure.

Water testing to lift the boil water advisory will take place on Tuesday.

Results are expected Wednesday.

In the meantime, Huntingdon Avenue will remain closed as final repairs to the water main are finished.

The street could be open as early as next week.

No further details were released.

Eyewitness News will provide more details as soon as they become available.
