JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - Southern Tier science fans are charged up with excitement, as Monday marked the start of Battery Week.

New Energy New York is holding the week long event to highlight innovation and activity related to the battery industry.

Monday was Future Innovators Day at the Oakdale Commons Mall, where K to 12 students had the opportunity to learn about electrical mechanisms, robotics, and more.

NENY's Deputy Director Emily Marino says she is looking forward to the community engagement that will result from the events.
