OSKALOOSA, Iowa —

Spirit Cafe in Oskaloosa celebrated KCCI's Eric Hanson, who is in New York City to receive a National Edward R. Murrow award for his storytelling, by offering a special menu inspired by his work on Monday.

The student-run cafe, which was featured in one of Hanson's award-winning stories , is serving dishes like the "Morning Anchor" bacon, egg, and American cheese on a croissant, in honor of the morning anchor.

The cafe's celebration includes a video of Hanson's story playing on TV, which has moved some patrons.

Customer Taylor Septer shared, "We saw the whole video from KCCI, but it actually made me cry, so of course we had to come in and celebrate for the day too."
