Vanderbilt guard Mikayla Blakes has been named to the 2025-26 preseason All-SEC first team, the conference announced Monday.

In addition, Vandy’s women’s basketball team is picked to finish seventh in the 16-team SEC, which is the highest preseason forecast for fifth-year head coach Shea Ralph.

The Commodores (22-11, 8-8 in 2024-25) are seeking their third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament, a feat they haven’t accomplished since 2011-12 through 2013-14 under former coach Melanie Balcomb.

South Carolina, which reached the NCAA Tournament title game last season, is picked to finish first in the SEC, followed by Texas, LSU, Tennessee and Oklahoma.

Vols guard Talaysia Cooper was selected to the preseason All-SEC second team.
