LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - While the wins and Big 12 awards continue to mount up for Texas Tech, new Red Raider recipients were announced Monday morning.

With an FBS season-high total of 263 yards and two touchdowns (71 and 55 yards) in Texas Tech’s 42-17 win over Kansas, running back Cameron Dickey was named the “Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week”. This was Tech’s best ground game performance since 1996 when Byron Hanspard ran for 287 yards against Baylor, on his way to winning that year’s Doak Walker Award.

On the defensive side, OLB David Bailey, who registered three sacks Saturday night, was announced the “Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week”. The Stanford-transfer leads the team with 8.5 sacks this season- much to the benefit of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest
