IOWA CITY — Iowa released its week eight depth chart ahead of a home matchup against Penn State on Saturday.

Of note, sophomore wide receiver Reece Vander Zee returned to the two-deep after missing the first five games of the season. Vander Zee, who did not appear on the depth chart last week, made his 2025 season debut against Wisconsin on Saturday.

In the 37-0 win over the Badgers, the Central Lyon product caught three of his team-high four targets for a team-high 29 yards.

The Hawkeyes also did some shuffling at their backup wide receiver situation following Vander Zee's return.

Dayton Howard, who previously served as the primary backup to Sam Phillips, now fills in as the backup to Jacob Gill. Vander Zee returned to his role backing up Phillips. The move also dropped KJ Parker from
