The bad news for the Hancock College football team was that unbeaten Ventura scored a 31-14 Northern League win against the Bulldogs on Military Appreciation Day at Hancock Saturday.

The good news for the Bulldogs was that they won the second half. An Elijah Little 6-yard touchdown run and a Raymond Escobedo PAT kick accounted for the only points of the second half.

Ventura moved to 6-0, 3-0 after winning for the 14th consecutive time in the series between the teams. Hancock is 3-3, 2-1. The Bulldogs will play a Northern League game at Moorpark this Saturday at 4 p.m.

"With the blocked punt and everything, it could have been 60-7," said Hancock coach Ricky Aguilar.
