A man will face court after police accused him of setting fire to community sports clubs, causing millions of dollars in damage.
The 31-year-old man from Dandenong was arrested in connection to fires at two council facilities in Melbourne in April and May 2025.
Fires at the soccer, AFL and cricket clubs caused more than $4 million worth of damage, police said.
The man allegedly set fire to Capital Reserve in Glen Waverley at 3am on April 16, completely destroying the structure.
After the fire, the Glen Waverley Soccer Club said "the damage has left our club heartbroken".
