SHREVEPORT, La. – The DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office is taking the next step with its “eyes in the sky” and looks to partner with area law enforcement agencies beyond the parish lines.

DeSoto Parish Sheriff Jayson Richardson briefed the Shreveport City Council Monday – at Council Grayson Boucher’s request – on his plans to expand his helicopter program. A Bell 206 Jet Ranger helicopter, secured with the help of the Louisiana State Police and the governor’s office, is being refitted. It should be delivered next month and operational after the first of the year.
