RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB) - District Judge Brian Cespiva was sworn in to the Division E seat on Oct. 12, making him the newest judge for the 9th Judicial District Court in Rapides Parish.
“It was a humbling experience, and we’re blessed, and we’re ready to get started now,” he shared.
Judge Cespiva previously worked as a felony prosecutor for the Rapides District Attorney’s Office. He now takes the seat of former Judge Patricia Koch, who recently finished her 20th year as a general jurisdiction judge and oversaw adult drug court and behavioral health court. He will also work the Division E docket and lead the juvenile court system.
Part of working juvenile court cases is working to solve issues that involve truancy and juvenile crime in Rapides Parish.
