WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Warner Robins Police Chief Wayne Fisher said last week’s raids targeting drugs and gangs made the city safer and broke up a long-time crime enterprise.

The operation, called "Wendon Way Blockade," involved 20 law enforcement units from across Central Georgia simultaneously raiding 12 homes throughout Warner Robins.

“On a street that has been a historic problem in our community,” Fisher said, referring to Wendon Way off Green Street on the city’s northside.

Fisher explained that a major crime ring operated there for generations.

“You have had families that have, from a historical point within that community, engaged with that development of that criminal enterprise that took place," Fisher said.
