NEW HAVEN, CT. (WFSB) - A search is underway for a person who abandoned a dog during a storm in New Haven.

The Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter posted on Facebook that the dog was found tied up without any shelter.

The dog is in the custody of the New Haven Animal Shelter.

“I am making an urgent plea to the public and relevant authorities to assist in identifying the person or persons responsible for this heinous act of animal cruelty,” said the shelter in the Facebook post. “Together, we can help ensure the safety and well-being of animals in our community and hold those accountable for such blatant neglect.”
