CLINTON, Miss. (WDAM) - The head of the body overseeing activities at Mississippi’s public high schools is “highly recommending” that tailgating on school property be banned.
Mississippi High School Activities Association Executive Director Rickey Neaves spoke on a Monday podcast after an unprecedented weekend of violence and death tied to high school football homecomings, .
“ … I highly recommend, at this time, that there be no tailgates on school property,“ Neaves said. ”All these events seem to stem from tailgates, so we recommend from advice from our attorney that we stop having tailgates on campus.
“That’s just a high recommendation.”
