LUBBOCK, Texas -- According to Red Raider Nation's David Collier, Texas Tech confirmed that a closed pocket knife was found on the Kansas sideline during the game on Saturday. Upon discovery, it was handed over to Texas Tech Police Department officials.
Texas Tech Athletics is currently investigating footage from the game to determine if it was thrown on to the field from the stands, and if so, who exactly was responsible for the incident. The confirmation came after the university responded to an inquiry from the Big 12 about the situation.
Kansas head coach Lance Leipold first mentioned the pocket knife in his postgame press conference, following a heated discussion with Red Raiders head coach Joey McGuire at midfield. Texas Tech does not expect to receive a fine from the incident.
