Two hikers were hospitalized Sunday after an attack by a grizzly bear in the McGregor Mountain range northeast of Prince George, in the Canadian province of British Columbia.
One victim was reported to be in critical condition.
The B.C. Conservation Officer Service announced the attack Monday via social media, stating that area trails are closed as the incident remains under investigation.
CBC reported that a critical care helicopter arrived at the scene at about 3 p.m. Sunday. The victims were flown to Prince George Airport, then rushed via ambulance to a hospital.

Eamon McArthur with the BCCOS told CBC that people are advised to avoid hiking in the Pass Lake area.
The victims were reported to have been carrying safety gear, but it was not clear if that included bear spray and/or noisemaking devices.
