KANSAS CITY, Mo. — People from across the country are in Kansas City for the Women Leaders in Sports National Convention.

It's back in downtown Kansas City this year at the Loews Kansas City Hotel.

FOX4 was told that about 1,200 people are attending this year's convention. It's designed to empower and inspire people to walk in a room and "Own It" – that's the theme this year.

"Our theme here is 'Own It.' So, we want women knowing that they deserve to be in the room," Women Leaders in Sports CEO Pattie Phillips said.
