ALEXANDRIA — The route for the Vikingland Community Support Program's popular Halloween Parade is changing. It will take place on Broadway, not Fillmore.
In past years, the parade started at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, moved to Fillmore Street and then to Ninth Avenue.
At Monday’s meeting, the Alexandria City Council approved a revised route for the Halloween Parade that will take place on Friday, Oct. 31, from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
Staging will now take place on Fourth Avenue East and Fifth Avenue East instead of at the fairgrounds.
The route will run from Fourth Avenue/Broadway and head south to Ninth Avenue. Tenth Avenue and Broadway is the breakdown area. From there, participants have two options — head south on Broadway through 10th Avenue or turn east at 10th Avenue and return to
