PHOENIX — The Phoenix Zoo will be closed for two days following storms in the Valley.
The Phoenix Zoo said in a news release that the zoo property sustained "significant damage" during the storms on Monday, including more than a dozen downed trees, flooding and widespread debris.
The 50-foot-tall digital floating tree on the Zoo's main lake fell over and the ZooLights tunnel was also damaged, the news release said.
"We are deeply grateful to share that no animals, guests, staff or volunteers were harmed," the zoo said. "All animals are safely accounted for, and our incredible keeper team acted swiftly to bring them into their night houses and ensure their wellbeing, as well as the wellbeing of those who remain outside."
