BOISE, Idaho – The Boise Department of Insurance says that it reviewed and accepted a filing to reduce workers’ compensation rates by 2.5%.

The filing was proposed by the National Council on Compensation Insurance and will take place on January 1, 2026. This year marks the ninth year in a row of reductions for Idaho employers.

The filing from the national council considers factors like claims volume and utilization, workforce and wage data, and legislative changes.

Workers’ compensation insurers now have the option to either adopt National Council on Compensation Insurance rates or propose an adjustment from its rates to the Idaho Department of Insurance.
