AUBURN HILLS, MI – A four-point buck found wedged between concrete freeway barriers in Oakland County was rescued by local police and first responders Monday afternoon.

According to a news release from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, a driver on Interstate 75 called Auburn Hills police at around 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, to report a deer that had been struck by a vehicle near Lapeer Road before somehow becoming stuck between the barriers separating the northbound and southbound sides of the roadway.

The county’s search and rescue team was asked to assist by local police. The team reportedly used a technical truck and straps to lift the deer from the gap, which police said was about a foot wide.
